Call for Applications

Showcasing Agriculture Technologies Ready for Scale Up!

Instructions

(Application Window: 13 January - 8 February 2022)

The Innovation, Research, Extension and Advisory Hub (iREACH) announces a call for applications on technologies and innovation suitable for West African agro-pastoral and cereal-roots mixed farming systems to showcase in agricultural technology parks (ATPs) in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Niger, and Senegal in 2022 and 2023.

Technologies will be showcased for the 2-year period; however, iREACH will request updated fact sheets in the second year to ensure the latest information on your technology.

The ATPs are hosted by the West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development (CORAF) Regional Center of Excellence (RCoE) in each country. For this first year, we will host (6) ATPs in the (5) countries. Each RCoE will host at least (1) agricultural technology park (ATP): Burkina Faso (1) and Senegal (1) are partnering with the Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab; Ghana is preparing (2) locations in coordination with Africa Rising; and Mali (1) and Niger (1) are partnering with the International Fertilizer Development Center. The country, RCoE, it's priority crop, and ATP locations are as follows:

  • Burkina Faso (INERA): Fruits and Legumes - ATP Location: Farako-ba (Bobo-Dioulasso)

  • Ghana (CRI): Roots and Tubers - ATP Location: Cities of Kumasi and Tamale

  • Mali (IER): Rice - ATP Location: Sotouba (Bamako)

  • Niger (INRAN): Livestock - ATP Location: N'Dounga (Niamey)

  • Senegal (CERAAS): Cereals - ATP Location: Bambey or CERAAS (Thies)

The priority crop is only included for your situational awareness as each ATP will be accepting suitable technologies that fall within the specifications as defined on the application page.

Please note that applications are required for each technology to assess its suitability at the ATP and, if selected, to ensure appropriate care and showcasing by the park manager. Therefore, fact sheet templates will used as the application to ascertain we have the required information and examples are provided to aid this process.

If you are interested in showcasing your promising technologies and innovation in any of these countries, please complete the fact sheet in the application tab for each country and each technology.
